INSURANCE GLOSSARY

O — Insurance Terms

Obligee, Occurrence Policy, Offshore Platform Insurance and more.

Obligee Lehtar (Alacaklı Taraf)
The party in whose favour a surety bond is issued; typically the project owner, employer or government authority that benefits from the principal's guaranteed obligation. Upon default, the obligee may make a claim directly against the surety.
Occurrence Policy Occurrence Poliçe
A policy that covers losses arising from events that occur during the policy period, regardless of when a claim is reported. Unlike claims-made policies, events that occurred during the policy period remain covered even after the policy expires, without need for tail cover.
Offshore Platform Insurance Offshore Platform Sigortası
Specialist energy insurance covering offshore drilling platforms, FPSOs and subsea pipelines against physical damage, blowout, well control costs and removal of wreck. Lloyd's and dedicated energy underwriters provide the critical capacity for this high-value segment.
Oil and Gas Insurance Petrol ve Doğalgaz Sigortası
Comprehensive energy insurance for the oil and gas sector covering drilling, production, refinery, pipeline and storage assets. Combines equipment damage, well control (blowout), pollution liability and business interruption cover in a single integrated programme.
On-Demand Bond / First Demand Guarantee İlk Talep Garantisi (On-Demand Bond)
A bond payable upon the obligee's first written demand without the need to prove default or obtain a court judgment. Unlike conditional bonds, the surety's right to refuse payment is extremely limited. This makes them high-risk for the principal and common in international construction and trade.
