- Maintenance Bond Bakım Teminat Senedi
- A bond guaranteeing that the contractor will remedy defects, deficiencies or damage discovered during the post-completion defect liability period (also called the maintenance period or retention period). It takes effect after practical completion of the works and remains in force until the end of the agreed defects period. London & International Market Practice: Maintenance bonds are commonly required in construction, engineering and infrastructure contracts as a complement to the performance bond. The scope and duration are defined by the underlying contract wording. Also referred to as a defects liability bond or warranty bond in some markets. Important Technical Note: The Maintenance Bond is distinct from the Performance Bond (Kesin Kefalet Senedi / İfa Kefalet Senedi), which covers the contract execution phase before completion. Both the performance and maintenance bonds are types of surety instrument issued by SEDDK-licensed insurers in Turkey.
